Don Fyvie

Fyvie, Donald Alexander - "The Old Warrior" in his 77th year, surrendered September 14, 2013 in the Palliative Care Room of the Wiarton Hospital in the love of his family, friends, Dr. John VanDorp, wonderful caring nurses and Hospice volunteers.  Loving husband of Jane (nee Watson) for 57 years.  Cherished father of Perry (Jan), Todd, and Dana (Vince Quinn).  Dear grandfather of Aaron and Meagan Fyvie, Aylsa Jane and Elora Quinn.  Also survived by one sister, Margaret Bell; brother-in-law Kyle Watson (Cathy); sister-in-law Lois Martin; nieces and nephews Mike, Dan, Glen, John F, James, Mary Lynn, Bill, Debbie, Ron John M., Heather, Brian, Grant, Stan, Scott, Carrie and Mathew.  Predeceased by his parents John and Hazel (Mundle) Fyvie, and parents-in-law Scott and Bess Watson; brothers Jack (late Helen), James (late Mary), Glen; sister Sylvia (late Stan MacKenzie) (late Ivan Knight); brother-in-law Dale Watson (late Betty); niece Anne Watson; nephews Richard, Jeff and Chris Fyvie, and James Bell.  A service to celebrate Don's life will be conducted from the Chapel of the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Tuesday, September 17 at 2 o'clock, with visitation from 12 - 2 pm.  Cremation to follow, with interment of ashes in Dunks Bay Cemetery, Tobermory, at a later date.  If so desired, memorial contributions to Bruce Peninsula Hospice Inc. (329 Mary St., Wiarton, N0H 2T0) would be greatly appreciated.
