Jimmy Askin

1937 - 2013

His family wishes to thank his two anonymous, selfless organ donor families. One family gave him his life back with a heart transplant over 23 years ago. More than 6 years ago, our second donor family gave Jimmy more time with his family when he received his kidneys, freeing him from a life of dialysis. Jimmy passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Monday, January 21, 2013 at the age of 76 years. Loving husband of the former Susan Bayer. Cherished father of Alison and her husband Jeff Foster, of Markham, Steve and his wife Nora, and Gary and his wife Maureen, both of Waterloo. Devoted grandfather of Jesse, Holly, Dylan, Sydnee, Reese, Tessa, Patrick, Riley, and Hannah. Brother of Bob and his wife Joyce, of Wiarton. Jimmy will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, Oliphant friends, and by Sue's father and brothers. Predeceased by his brothers John (and late wife Betty), and Charles. Family invite you to gather with them for times of visitation at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, 814 Bruce Rd. 8, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Friday, January 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where a service celebrating Jimmy's life will be conducted on Saturday at 1 o'clock. Cremation to follow. Donations to the Wiarton or Owen Sound Hospitals, Heart and Stroke Foundations or Kidney Foundation would be appreciated
