Beverley King-Lewis

1939 - 2021

Beverley passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on June 14, 2021, in Wiarton, in her 82nd year. She gave a valiant and courageous fight against the insidious lung disease Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Just as she lived her life, she passed away on her terms. Bev was the dear mother to Dave (Vicky), Cheryl (Brian), Donna (Curt), Rob (Cindy), Christine, and Eva (Brent). Bev was the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her childhood friend Charlotte. She is predeceased by her sister, Pat Tyler. Bev had fond lifelong memories of spending her summers at her grandparent’s tourist camp on Carpenter Lake in Northern Ontario. Bev is remembered for her large vegetable garden and her love of crewel embroidery, reading, and CBC radio. She was proud to be a volunteer driver for the Children’s Aid Society. Bev was a kind and brave woman who had a wonderful sense of humour. Her children were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from their mom during her 81 years, among them: break out the brown crying towel when it is needed and be sure to sing loudly and off-key in the kitchen. She will be missed! A private family graveside service was held at Colpoy’s Bay Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation would be appreciated and can be made through the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041.
