1912 - 2016

Queenie Grace McBean (nee Close) – passed away peacefully at Golden Dawn Seniors Residence, Lion’s Head on Wednesday December 14, 2016 in her 105th year. Queenie was born June 15, 1912, in Saskatchewan to William and Grace Close. Most of her years prior to moving to Lion’s Head she resided in the Sarnia Area and Brigden where she and Frank farmed. Beloved wife of the late John Franklin McBean. Loving mother of her chosen daughter Kristyne and her husband Paul of Wiarton. Cherished grandmother of Julie Ann and Jennifer Mae. Much loved and faithful former daughter-in-law Laura (Douglas) and her husband Pete Thomaes, of Corunna. Lovingly remembered aunt of Norma Jean Melville, of Forest, Jim and Gwen McBean, of Brights Grove, Corolyn McBean and John Haas, of Regina SK, and Robert McBean, of Michigan. Queenie will be lovingly remembered by her great nieces and nephews; very special friends, Tom and Diana Zytariuk, and Mary Scott; and also her loving circle of friends and staff of Golden Dawn, Moore Agricultural Society “Ladies Division”, and her extended family of the Kinsman and Nobles. Predeceased by her parents, William and Grace Close; chosen son Douglas Franklin McBean; and sister Olive and her husband Ralph. At Queenie’s request, cremation has taken place.
