1940 - 2018

Suddenly at his Wiarton home, on Sunday April 29, 2018. Reginald “Reg” Elgin MacDonald at the age of 77 years. Beloved husband and best friend to Brenda (nee Arbogast). Devoted father of Reg Jr. (wife Lynne Vaughan-MacDonald), of Balmy Beach, Dawn-Renée (husband Mark Wunderlich), of Gould Lake, and Ken (wife Kristine), of Pike Bay; and step-father of Kelly Stone (husband Jeremy Scott), of Edinburgh, Scotland, and Jodi Stone (husband Tony Oliveira), of Cambridge. Grandfather of Lindsay (Dennis Wideman), Alexis MacDonald, Cassie (Andrew Hilbert), Callie Jewell (Avram Phillips), and Brendon MacDonald-Richards; step-grandfather of Vincent Stone-Oliveira, Devon Wunderlich (Rita), and Alisha Wunderlich (fiancé Brent Blackwood); and great-grandfather of Emmett, Charlotte, Beau, Colton, Levi, and Easton. Brother of Larry (Penny), Owen Sound, Ruth Weatherhead, of Petrolia, Margie McMillan (late Clarke), Ted (Elke), and Joanne (Wayne Dieter), all of Owen Sound; and brother-in-law of Myrna MacDonald, and Kay MacKenzie. Sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Harold and Gladys; brothers, Wayne and Ron; and precious grandson MacDonald William Jewell (2001). Reg will be remembered as a local country music icon, bringing his unique style of music and laughter to our community. A gathering to celebrate Reg’s life will be conducted from the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #208 Wiarton on Sunday May 27, 2018 beginning at 2 o’clock. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C.
