1941 - 2018

Of Wiarton, peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday November 7, 2018. The former Ruth Mae Bearss at the age of 77 years. Loving wife of Norm for over 28 years. Beloved mother of Ken (Deb McIntyre) McLeod, of Watford, Mike (Nancy) McLeod, of Rostock, Joanne (John Wiebe), of London, Martin (Brenda) McLeod, of St. Marys, Robert (Cathy) McLeod, of Grand Prairie, AB, and Scott McLeod, of London; step-mother of Kathy (Keith Dance), of Denfield, and Ron (Patty) Davy, of Shallow Lake; and mother-in-law of Cathy Kerstens of Exeter, and Krista McLeod, of London. Cherished grandmother and great-grandmother of 69. Sister of Gloria (John Myers), of Mitchell, Linda (Denver Maschke), and Ed (Pat) Bearss, both of Kincardine; and sister-in-law of Jim (Viney) Deakins, of Innisfil, and Emily (late Orville Tuffnell), of Wiarton. Predeceased by her parents, Cyrus and Mae; brothers-in-law Gary Deakins and Charlie Deakins; sister-in-law Isabel Deakins; and daughter-in-law Nancy McLeod. Sadly missed by special friends, Dave and Marie Currie, and Chuck and Trina McKinnon, and her many nieces, nephews, and friends. Ruth was a longstanding member of the Zion-Keppel United Church. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, where a service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be conducted in the chapel on Thursday November 15, 2018 at 2 PM (visiting one hour prior to service).
