Thomas Whitcroft

    Tom was raised in Red Bay, attending Public School and High School in Wiarton.  He received his B.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University, and worked for ten years as an Exercise and Behavioural Therapist and Nutritional Consultant in the Owen Sound and Bruce Peninsula areas.  He also taught part-time at the Owen Sound Campus of Georgian College.

    After the death of his grandfather, he changed the direction of his occupation toward Funeral Service, enrolling in the Funeral Services Education Program at Humber College, at the conclusion of which he graduated Valedictorian, receiving the Academic Award of Excellence from the Funeral Services Education Program;  the Board of Funeral Services Award   for receiving the highest marks on the licensing exams; and the Godfrey Schuett Award for academic achievement.

    In 2001, Tom founded the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel in Sauble Beach  were he and his staff serve  South Bruce Peninsula, Northern Bruce Peninsula, Saugeen Shores, Georgian Bluffs and the families of Bruce and Grey Counties.

  Tom's history of community involvement has included being Chair of Bruce Peninsula Hospice, Vice-Chair for the Sauble Beach Medical Clinic, Board Member Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living, Board Member Bruce Peninsula Senior Connect, Committee Member for Golden Dawn Palliative Care Team, Member of various local Fraternal and Service Clubs, for example Wiarton and District Lion's Club, Cedar Lodge Masons (Wiarton), Burns Lodge Masons (Hepworth), Bruce Shrine Club, Ramoca Shrine Club, etc., and has been involved in the training of Victim Assistance Grey-Bruce volunteers.

Above and beyond all of this, Tom Whitcroft is on-call to the families of this community 24 hours a day, seven days a week. When a family needs him. he is always there... ...always.

Our family
    Tom was happily married to his wife Kim in August of 2012. Tom has two sons, Jeff and Chris.  Kim has a daughter, Melissa, and a son, Josh.
