Suddenly (as the result of a tragic accident) at his Oliphant home on Friday, July 30, 2021. Nicholas Thomas Mountain at the age of 24 years. Cherished son of Pete and Jody Mountain, of Oliphant. Devoted brother of Kristina and her partner Austin Mitterhuber, of South Bruce Peninsula. Forever missed by his ‘Yia-Yia’, Kathy Mountain, of London; Aunt, Maria Mountain, and her husband Paul Diederichsen, of London; and his ‘Uncle’ John Sanderson, of Red Bay. Predeceased by his ‘Bumpa’ Hal Mountain; ‘Papa’ Jack and ‘Nanny’ Dorothy Albrough; and his Aunt, Susan Albrough. Nick was a traditional old soul who loved sailing, cooking, and craftsmanship. He enjoyed scuba diving and catching lobster in the Keys of Florida on yearly family trips. He was known for his appreciation of fine scotches, being the only first-year University Student that preferred single malt scotch over a beer. Visitation for Nick will be held at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Friday, August 6, 2021, from 1-2, 2-3 and 6-7, 7-8, and 8-9 PM. All those wishing to attend must register in advance by completing the RSVP registration on Nick’s page on the funeral home website. In accordance with Covid-19 regulations, all those attending are required to wear a mask and social distance. Attendance is limited. A private family service will be held on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock. Although the service is private, friends are welcome to view the Celebration of Life via Zoom at 11 AM on Saturday by selecting the ‘Attend Zoom Service’ on Nick’s page on the funeral home website. Interment in Red Bay Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the 12:30 PM interment service at Red Bay cemetery can register through Nick’s page.
