1957 - 2022

Richard “Rick” Duncan Lourie - Dec. 21, 1957 - Oct. 29, 2022 - After a brief battle with cancer, Rick passed away peacefully Sat. Oct. 29th in the Southampton Hospital with his wife, Lorretta, and family at his side. Rick touched our hearts with his Love for life & his sense of humour and was a substantial influence in the culinary industry as an International Chef & pastry artist. He will be dearly missed & always remembered by his wife, Lorretta (MacDonald), his daughters Alicia (Craig) all of Port Elgin & Angela, of Pheonix, AZ; loving “Poppie” to Olivia & Coral; his brothers & sisters, Carolyn Dalmus of Wasaga Beach, Gerald of Collingwood, Stephen & Josephine of Chatham & Linda MacKinnon of Waterloo. Brother-in-law to Charlie of NB; Bernadette of Nfld; Stan of Cambridge; Mary (Alex) of Nfld, Freda of BC; Gerald of NB; Eileen (Steve) Nfld; Delphine (Dave) of BC. Step-brother to the White & Schreiber Families. Loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins of the Robinson & Lourie Clans. Predeceased by his parents Edgar & Shirley; and brother-in-law Clyde. The family would like to thank Dr.’s Marriott, Higgins & Khan, and the amazing nursing staff at the Southampton Hospital. They were all Rock Stars! As well as, Tom Whitcroft & staff at Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Chapel for their continued support & service. After cremation, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Everyones love, support & prayers have been greatly appreciated. Any Donations may go to the Southampton Hospital Foundation or the Huntington Society of Canada.
