1927 - 2015

- Veteran of WWII - of Neyaashiinigmiing, peacefully with his loving family at his side at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton, on Friday, August 21, 2015. Reginald Ross Murray Johnston at the age of 88 years. Loving husband of the late former Dorothy Muriel Nadjiwon (2012). Cherished father of Allan, of Seattle, Tina (husband Rick Hill), of Wiarton, and Jackie (husband Peter Tenute), of Ottawa. Devoted grandfather Graham and Scott Hill (wife Darla Kaupilla), and Peter, Hillory, and Matthew Tenute, and Christopher; and great-grandfather of Anthony, Anika, Oasis, and Zephyr. Brother of Charles Johnston (wife Betty), and Ted Johnston (wife Phyllis), both of Neyaashiinigmiing, and Bernice Hill, of Hagersville; and brother-in-law of Ernie Nadjiwon (wife Lillian), Annette Keeshig, and Donald Keeshig, all of Neyaashiinigmiing. Predeceased by his parents Alexander and Beatrice; brothers Giles Keeshig, Eric Johnston, Orville Johnston, Lorne Hill, Mickey Keeshig, Ross Wilson, and Nick Kukhta; sisters Eva Nadjiwon, Dolly Johnston, Iola Keeshig, Delina Johnston and Keitha Keeshig; brother-in-law Clifford Nadjiwon; and sister-in-law Vera Kukhta. Ross was proud to serve his country as a member of RCAF Search and Rescue, 105 CNR Flight, and 108 Comm. Flight. Family invite friends to gather for visitation at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton, (519) 534-5341, on Saturday August 29, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be conducted from the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cape Croker on Monday at 2 o'clock. A Royal Canadian Legion Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday evening at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. Cremation to follow.
